Clay Kim, DDS, MD
Dr. Kim was raised in Ellicott City, MD. He started his undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University, where he played lacrosse for two years. He then transferred and graduated from the University of Maryland - College Park, with a degree in Marine Biology. Dr. Kim earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Columbia University’s School of Dental Medicine in New York, NY in 2006.
During his six-year residency program in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, Dr. Kim completed a two-year training in general surgery and earned a medical degree from Drexel University’s School of Medicine in 2011. He was trained in a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including advanced orthognathic surgery, complex maxillofacial trauma surgery, and facial reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Kim is board certified in oral and maxillofacial surgery and a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. His practice focuses on the disciplines of ambulatory parenteral anesthesia administration, third molar (wisdom tooth) removal, bone grafting, dental implantology, reconstructive surgery, and orthognathic jaw surgery. Dr. Kim holds staff privileges at Washington Hospital in DC.
Dr. Kim and his wife, Josie, have two wonderful children, Anna and Nate, and reside in Calvert County with their two lovely Chihuahuas, Junior and Louie. Their family focuses on Christian faith and values, attending and serving Chesapeake Church. In their free time, they enjoy spending time together watching Nate’s lacrosse games, going out to movies, traveling, golfing, and skiing.
